Stacey Lutz
DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH ANALYSIS
lutz@porticoresearch.com
Stacey's academic accomplishments could easily make her PortiCo's brainiest staffer. In fact, the teacher in her is ever introducing new concepts and tools to the rest of the PortiCo team. As an analyst, she loves looking at the ways identity is expressed through individuals' goals and expectations, and the ways in brands and experiences can be developed to meet them. For Stacey, one of the greatest satisfactions comes when her detailed analysis uncovers important connections or motivations that were not readily apparent to the field team.

With a doctorate in Social Psychology, specializing in developmental issues, Stacey has contributed to PortiCo Research since 1996 as the company's Director of Research Analysis. She regularly teaches a variety of both undergraduate and graduate courses in social and developmental psychology and research methods at New York University, Columbia University, and Princeton University. She has taught a doctoral seminar in social psychological theory at Teacher's College, Columbia University, and a course in gender studies and feminist theory at the New School for Social Research. She has also acted as a consultant on several projects for the Center for Children & Technology, a Greenwich Village-based nonprofit research group that explores ways to enhance educational equity and technology use for kids from underserved communities.

Stacey is a lover and supporter of the arts, with a deep appreciation for a diverse range of forms and media. In any given month, she might attend the ballet and see some flamenco, hear the Kronos Quartet and Kiki and Herb, visit an exhibit of fin de siecle painting at an Austrian museum on the Upper East Side and then take in an indie film in the Village. She has an almost unrivaled love of and thirst for knowledge and all things new. Some of the more recent discoveries to strike her fancy include the leafy sea dragon and a chart on the evolution of languages.

A connoisseur of all things refined, Stacey knows just where to find the little shop that makes amazing specialty chocolates, the store that still sews custom shirts by hand, or the flower shop that looks like a bit of Paris in Nolita. Not only that, but she is friends with the people in the shops! This inherent connectedness, combined with her considerate nature, makes Stacey able to think of the perfect gift for anybody. (Quelle chance for the rest of the PortiCo team, non?)
