Alicia is a creative and compassionate spirit who believes in appreciating the simple pleasures of life and in respecting the earth. When not working on her diverse film projects, she enjoys a good Pilates workout, gardening and composting. Even in Chicago's snowy winters, she can often be found beside her backyard bonfire, enjoying a bottle of wine and good conversation with friends while taking in the elements
Alicia came to filmmaking via modern dance, lighting design, and story telling. The convergence of these three loves led her to Chicago, producing documentaries about life, the arts, education, the environment, and eventually to Portico's community of collaboration. Some of her favorite PortiCo shoots included documenting Shanghai street vendors stirring their cauldrons, and taping Bears fans at Chicago's Soldier Field as they tailgate over grills in the parking lot. Ever the producer, Alicia brings to PortiCo a passion for getting the story and a knack for creatively maximizing every interview situation.
An inveterate and fearless list-maker, Alicia starts her days composing 1 or 2 lists over her morning cup of tea before she kinetically plugs in to the day.
